"It will be good, therefore, if those responsible for the lives of peoples make no exclusive choice between history and prophecy. While their feet stay solidly planted on the ground of history, the tinge of prophecy stemming from a comprehensive view of mankind and its history will lend distinction to what they do and, finally, approval to the most profound reality of human beings which cannot be achieved by the lessons of history alone. This is also a wish for politicians and for the world."
